Nonprofits: Tell your story in Kennedy Plaza
As part of the facelift of Kennedy Plaza, Providence will be hosting "Nonprofit Tuesdays" during the summer months. Nonprofit organizations can share information about their work from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the sidewalk along the Washington Street side of Burnside Park.

Blue Cross Blue Shield employees now have Time to Give
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) is now providing employees with eight hours of paid time each year to volunteer with a nonprofit in Rhode Island. BCBSRI launched the "Time to Give" Program in honor of National Volunteer Week (April 27-May3).
Initiative announces new Director
The Rhode Island Foundation is pleased to announce that Jill Pfitzenmayer, Ph.D. has joined the Foundation as the Director of the Initiative for Nonprofit Excellence.
Prior to coming to RIF, Jill was with Child & Family Services in Newport for eight years, where she was the Vice President for Organizational Quality & Training. She started the Newport Initiative for Nonprofit Leadership in 2007, a capacity-building program for agencies working with children and families.
Jill is a licensed psychologist, holds a doctorate from New York University and has worked in university, hospital and child welfare settings for over 25 years. She works in private practice and teaches graduate courses in the School of Education at Johnson & Wales University. Jill and her husband moved to Portsmouth from New York in 1999. |
